Brief Biography:  Robert Wuhl is known for creating and starring in the hit HBO sports-comedy series Arli$$ (1996–2002) and for playing the reporter Alexander Knox in Tim Burton's Batman (1989).

Early Life and Stand-Up Roots:
Wuhl attended the University of Houston. He started his career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1970s, honing his craft at The Improv in New York. His routines drew a dedicated following and caught the eye of legendary comedian Rodney Dangerfield, who hired Wuhl as a joke writer. Wuhl would later make notable appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Night with David Letterman.

Film Success:
Wuhl made a smooth transition to film, quickly becoming a go-to character actor. His early breakout roles include Larry in the classic baseball film Bull Durham (1988) and a fast-talking radio producer alongside Robin Williams in Good Morning, Vietnam (1987). He is best known to mainstream audiences for his portrayal of Gotham City reporter Alexander Knox in the blockbuster Batman (1989).

Television and Writing:
In 1996, Wuhl created, wrote, and starred in Arli$$ on HBO. The satirical comedy about the cutthroat world of professional sports agents ran for seven seasons, earning Wuhl two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing. Prior to this, he also won two Emmy Awards in the early 1990s for co-writing the Academy Awards broadcasts.

Later Career and Other Works:
Wuhl has continued his career as a multifaceted storyteller, touring his educational one-man comedy show Assume the Position with Mr. Wuhl, in which he used pop culture to explain American history. In more recent years, he has made recurring voice appearances on the animated series American Dad! and has reprised his iconic Batman role in television crossovers.
