Early Life and Radio Career:
Family Roots: One of eight children of a sugar cane laborer. His father died when he was a child.
First Breaks: Started his broadcasting career at age 14 due to wartime radio voice shortages.
Radio Shows: Worked on hit shows like Alma Estudiantil, Torito and Company, and the comedy El Gran Hotel alongside legendary figures like Ramón Ortiz del Rivero. He formed a successful theater comedy act with José Miguel Agrelot ("Don Cholito") in the mid-1950s.
