Brief Biography:  Elizabeth Larrieu Torres is a Puerto Rican-American actress, singer, and comedian. She is best known for her television roles, particularly as Mahalia Sanchez on The John Larroquette Show (1993–1996) and as Miss Patty on Gilmore Girls (2000–2007).

Career Beginnings:
She began her entertainment career performing as a singer and stand-up comedian in the New York City nightclub and bathhouse circuit alongside her friend Bette Midler. She was discovered in 1971 by a producer for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, leading to her national television stand-up debut.

Television Breakthroughs:
1970s: Landed recurring roles as Teresa Betancourt in All in the Family (1976–1977) and as Julie Erskine in the Mary Tyler Moore spin-off Phyllis (1975–1976).
The John Larroquette Show (1993–1996): Gained widespread critical acclaim for her starring role as the cynical and outspoken Mahalia Sanchez. This role earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award nomination.
Gilmore Girls (2000–2007): Beloved by audiences for her portrayal of Patricia "Miss Patty" LaCosta, the flamboyant, nostalgic former Broadway dancer and Stars Hollow town dance instructor.
