Brief Biography:  Ryan Stiles is acknowledged for his towering height, expressive physical comedy, and lightning-fast improvisational skills on Whose Line Is It Anyway? and The Drew Carey Show. He is also recognized for his role as Herb Melnick in Two and a Half Men.

Early Life and Career Beginnings:
Stiles moved to Canada with his family at the age of ten, settling in Richmond, British Columbia. At age 17, Stiles dropped out of high school just months before graduation to pursue stand-up comedy. He performed in various Vancouver-area nightclubs and even forged a fake ID to do so. During this time, he met his wife, Patricia McDonald, working as a waitress at Punchlines Comedy Club.

Improv and Television Breakthroughs:
Stiles' breakthrough came in the late 1980s when he joined Toronto's Second City comedy troupe, where he performed alongside future stars like Mike Myers. In 1989, he was cast in the British improvisational comedy series Whose Line Is It Anyway?. His quick wit and comedic timing made him a fan favorite and the show's longest-running performer. His work on the British Whose Line caught the attention of comedian Drew Carey. This led to several defining television roles:
The Drew Carey Show (1995–2004): Stiles played the eccentric, brilliant, yet wildly unmotivated best friend, Lewis Kiniski.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? (US version, 1998–present): Alongside Drew Carey, Stiles served as a co-executive producer and featured regular, cementing his legendary on-stage chemistry with Colin Mochrie. His performance on the show earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2002.

Additional Roles and Later Career:
Transitioning into other successful sitcoms, Stiles portrayed the kind but clueless Dr. Herb Melnick on CBS's Two and a Half Men from 2003 to 2015. He also notably appeared in the parody films Hot Shots! (1991) and Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993) alongside Charlie Sheen.
