Stewart graduated from the College of William & Mary in 1984 with a degree in psychology. He worked several odd jobs before moving back to New York in 1986 to pursue a career in stand-up comedy. His unique brand of sarcastic humor and sharp observational comedy quickly gained traction, leading to early television roles on MTV and Short Attention Span Theater.
The Daily Show and Cultural Impact:
In 1999, Stewart took over as host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, succeeding Craig Kilborn.
