Mary Scheer is known as an original cast member of the Fox sketch comedy series MADtv and for playing the iconic, overprotective mother Marissa Benson on Nickelodeon's iCarly.

Born on March 19, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, Scheer found her comedic footing as an alumna of the main company at the famous Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles. She performed there for six years alongside notable comedians like Will Ferrell, Jennifer Coolidge, and Michael Hitchcock.
Television and Sketch Comedy:
MADtv: Scheer was one of the original cast members of the sketch show when it premiered in 1995, appearing in over 60 episodes. She was celebrated for her impressions of celebrities like Demi Moore, Kathy Griffin, and Janet Reno.
iCarly: She gained a massive Gen-Z and millennial following for her role as Freddie Benson's notoriously uptight mother, Marissa Benson, appearing in both the original 2007 series and its Paramount+ reboot.
