Reiser grew up in a traditional Jewish family. He attended Stuyvesant High School and later went to Binghamton University, where he initially majored in music (piano and composition). While in college, he frequently returned to New York City during summer breaks to perform stand-up comedy at clubs like the Improv and Comic Strip. Breakthrough Roles:
Reiser's knack for sharp dialogue earned him his breakout screen role in Barry Levinson’s 1982 film Diner.
