Brief Biography:  Regis Philbin was best known as the high-energy host of the talk show Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee (later Live! with Regis and Kelly) and the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Known for his rapid-fire, relatable, and comedic on-air rants, he held the Guinness World Record for the most hours spent on U.S. television.

Early Life and Career:
Education: Graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1953 with a degree in sociology.
Military: Served in the U.S. Navy before getting his start in television as an NBC page for The Tonight Show.

Breakthrough in Broadcasting:
Joey Bishop: Philbin got his first major network exposure in 1967 when he became the announcer and comedic sidekick to Joey Bishop on The Joey Bishop Show.
Morning TV: In 1983, he began hosting The Morning Show in New York. When Kathie Lee Gifford joined him in 1985, the unscripted conversational banter between the two became a massive hit, propelling the show into national syndication in 1988.
Co-Hosts: Philbin hosted Live! with Gifford until 2000, and subsequently with Kelly Ripa until his retirement in 2011.
