Brief Biography:  Andrea Martin is best known for her Emmy-winning work on the sketch comedy series SCTV, she is equally celebrated for her Tony-winning Broadway career and iconic roles in films like My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Early Life and Breakthrough:
Born in Portland, Maine, to Armenian-American parents, Martin discovered her passion for performance at an early age. She graduated from Emerson College in Boston and soon after relocated to Toronto, Canada, in the early 1970s. Her first big break was starring in a Toronto production of Godspell alongside future comedy legends like Martin Short and Eugene Levy.

Television and SCTV:
Martin skyrocketed to fame as a core cast member of the groundbreaking sketch comedy show SCTV. Over six seasons, she won two Emmy Awards for her writing and created unforgettable characters, most notably the Leopard-print-clad station manager Edith Prickley. She remains one of the defining figures in sketch comedy and was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2018.
