Brief Biography:  Larry Murphy is best known for voicing Uncle Teddy on the animated sitcom Bob's Burgers. He is widely recognized for his deadpan delivery, unique character work, and extensive vocal versatility across several prominent animated television series.

Early Life and Career Beginnings:
Murphy was born and raised in Abington, Massachusetts. Before finding his footing in the entertainment industry, he served in the U.S. Navy. He launched his comedy career in 1997 at the age of 25 by performing stand-up comedy at The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Shortly after starting, he partnered with fellow comedian and musician Brendon Small. Together, the duo wrote and performed live sketch comedy and comedic rock operas around the Boston area until 2001.

Voice Acting and Animation Breakthrough:
Through his early live character work and connection to Brendon Small, Murphy transitioned seamlessly into voice acting, notably collaborating with Boston-based animation studio Soup2Nuts:
Home Movies: He made early guest voice appearances on this cult-favorite animated series cocreated by Small.
Assy McGee: Murphy demonstrated incredible vocal range by voicing the titular character—a walking pair of police-detective buttocks—along with all other main chara
cters on the Adult Swim series. Bob's Burgers: In his most famous role, Murphy voices the lovable, over-enthusiastic handyman Teddy. Originally a minor character, Teddy became so vital to the dynamic of the show that Murphy was promoted to the main cast in 2013. He also provides the voices for other recurring characters like Gretchen, Coach Blevins, and Edith Cranwinkle.
Other Major Animated Roles: He voiced the aggressive immigration officer Lt. Francis Grimes on Comedy Central's Ugly Americans, the Amazing Rope Guy on PBS Kids' WordGirl, and various roles on O'Grady, The Venture Bros., and Archer.

Live-Action Television and Film:
Beyond voiceovers, Murphy has maintained a frequent presence in live-action alternative comedy, frequently appearing alongside long-time creative peers like H. Jon Benjamin and Eugene Mirman:
Late Night with Conan O'Brien: He regularly appeared as a sketch actor during the show's New York era.
Delocated: He played the recurring live-action role of Jay the Doorman on this Adult Swim parody series.
Jon Benjamin Has a Van: He portrayed Detective Murphy on the Comedy Central series.
Guest Appearances: He has appeared in episodes of Inside Amy Schumer and Difficult People, and lent his voice to Eugene Mirman’s 2009 comedy album.
The Bob's Burgers Movie: In 2022, he reprised his career-defining role as Teddy for the series' theatrical feature film.
