Brief Biography:  Gary Mule Deer is renowned for his zany prop humor, deadpan delivery, and high-energy pompadour. With a career spanning over six decades, he is one of the most played comedians on SiriusXM’s Laugh USA and was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2023.

Career Origins:

The Stage Name: He took his stage name after seeing mule deer along Route 85 in Wyoming and the Dakotas.
The Start: He began as a musician playing Johnny Cash covers but pivoted to comedy by accident after missing a guitar chord, stopping to tell a joke, and realizing the crowd responded better to his humor.
Steve Martin Connection: In his early Los Angeles years, Mule Deer was roommates with an unknown Steve Martin. He notably wrote the first joke Martin ever submitted to The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.

Television & Touring:
Pioneering Comedy: He was half of the successful "Muledeer and Moondog Medicine Show" comedy duo.
