Shelley Long is best known for her iconic role as the intellectual, snobbish, and endearing waitress Diane Chambers on the hit sitcom Cheers. Her brilliant comedic timing earned her five Emmy nominations—winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1983—and two Golden Globe Awards.
Early Life and Career Beginnings:
Education: Studied drama at Northwestern University but left before graduating to pursue acting and modeling.
