Early Life and Theater Break:
Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Lynde discovered a passion for acting at an early age. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater and relocated to New York City. He built a reputation performing stand-up at comedy clubs like Number One Fifth Avenue and made his Broadway debut in the hit revue New Faces of 1952.
