Brief Biography:
Bert Kreischer is known for his high-energy, shirtless storytelling. He rose to fame after a 1997 Rolling Stone article named him the country's top partier while at Florida State University. That college lifestyle loosely inspired the movie Van Wilder.
Early Life & Career Origins:
He attended Jesuit High School in Tampa and later went to Florida State University (FSU), majoring in English. During his infamous six-and-a-half years at FSU, he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and became a national party legend, which eventually caught the attention of Rolling Stone. Following the article's publication, Kreischer caught the attention of the entertainment industry. He relocated to New York City to hone his stand-up skills at the Boston Comedy Club and later moved to Los Angeles in 1999. His early career included hosting various TV shows, including Hurt Bert on FX and Bert the Conqueror on the Travel Channel.
Stand-Up & "The Machine":
While Kreischer's early focus was on television, he eventually doubled down on his stand-up comedy. He is widely recognized for his legendary signature stand-up routine, "The Machine," which details his accidental involvement in a train robbery with the Russian mafia while on a college trip. The bit became a viral sensation and later inspired the 2023 Sony Pictures feature film The Machine.
Touring & Specials:
Kreischer has built a massive global following, regularly selling out major arenas and amphitheaters. He is the creator and headliner of the highly successful Fully Loaded Comedy Festival. Known for his prolific output, he has released multiple hit comedy specials on Netflix, including Secret Time, Hey Big Boy, Razzle Dazzle, and The Machine.
Podcasts & Business Ventures:
Alongside his stand-up, Kreischer has built an extensive media and business empire. He hosts the popular Bertcast podcast and co-hosts the global hit 2 Bears, 1 Cave alongside fellow comedian Tom Segura. He and Segura also launched a vodka brand called Por Osos ("For Bears"). Together with his wife LeeAnn, he launched Berty Boy Productions to produce his digital media network.
Television Expansion:
Continuing his collaboration with Netflix, Kreischer co-created, executive produced, and starred in the scripted comedy series Free Bert, which expanded his signature brand of storytelling into a broader television format.
