Brief Biography:  Kevin James is most famous for his role as Doug Heffernan on the long-running sitcom The King of Queens. Known for his "everyman" persona and physical comedy, he has successfully transitioned from stand-up to a prolific career in major film comedies.

Early Life and Athletic Background:
At Ward Melville High School, he was a star wrestler alongside future WWE legend Mick Foley. He played fullback for the varsity football team at SUNY Cortland, but back injuries ultimately ended his sporting ambitions, leading him to discover a passion for community theater.

Rise to Stardom:
James began his comedy career in 1989 on the Long Island stand-up circuit, often performing with his brother, fellow comedian Gary Valentine.
Breakthrough: His big break came at the 1996 Montreal "Just for Laughs" Comedy Festival, which led to a recurring role on Everybody Loves Raymond.
The King of Queens: From 1998 to 2007, James starred in and executive-produced the hit CBS series, earning a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2006.
