Brief Biography:  Johnny Hardwick was best known as the voice of Dale Gribble on King of the Hill. A Texas native and stand-up comedian, he helped shape his iconic character and won an Emmy as part of the show's production team.

Early Life and Career:
Graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in journalism.
Started his stand-up career in 1990, becoming the first comedian to appear on The Jon Stewart Show.
Caught the attention of King of the Hill creator Mike Judge at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.

King of the Hill (1997–2010):
Hardwick was originally hired as a staff writer before being cast as the voice of Dale Gribble, the conspiracy-theorist exterminator.
He was a key part of the creative team, serving as a writer, story editor, and producer.
He was nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards, winning in 1999 for Outstanding Animated Program.
He was the only actor to appear in the majority of episodes as the character.

Legacy:
Hardwick is remembered for his distinct voice work that brought a "unique, tender-hearted, and talented" quality to Dale Gribble, as noted by his co-star Pamela Adlon.
