Brief Biography:
Christopher Haden-Guest, 5th Baron Haden-Guest is best known for creating, directing, and starring in a series of improvised satirical mockumentaries, including Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), and For Your Consideration (2006).
Early Life and Education:
The son of British diplomat Lord Peter Haden-Guest and American CBS talent executive Jean Haden-Guest.
Education: Attended the High School of Music & Art in New York (playing clarinet) and the Stockbridge School in Massachusetts, where he met Arlo Guthrie and learned to play mandolin. He later attended New York University (NYU).
Early Career: He began his career in the early 1970s, appearing in the play Moonchildren and contributing to the National Lampoon Radio Hour.
Key Films and Television:
This Is Spinal Tap (1984): Guest co-wrote and starred as lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel in this seminal rock satire, a role he is highly famous for.
Saturday Night Live (1984–85): Served as a cast member for the 10th season.
The Princess Bride (1987): Played the memorable villain Count Tyrone Rugen ("the six-fingered man").
