Frank Gorshin was best known for his iconic, Emmy-nominated role as The Riddler on the 1960s Batman television series. Known for his high-energy performances and uncanny mimicry, he was a staple of nightclubs and variety shows, including The Ed Sullivan Show.

Education: Attended Carnegie Mellon University (then Carnegie Tech School of Drama).
Early Start: Began his career as a cinema usher, honing impressions of movie stars before winning a talent contest that led to nightclub performances.
Military Service: Served in the U.S. Army (1953–55), working as an entertainer in special services.
Rise to Fame and Iconic Roles:
The Riddler: Gorshin played the Riddler in the 1960s Batman television series, creating a maniacal, unpredictable portrayal that set the standard for the villain.
Television and Film: Appeared in Where the Boys Are (1960), That Darn Cat! (1965), Twelve Monkeys (1995), and popular TV shows including Star Trek (as Bele in "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield").
