Brief Biography:  Larry Fine best known as the middle, often bewildered member of The Three Stooges. A Philadelphia native and former boxer, he brought a unique, surreal comedic style to over 190 films with the trio.

Early Life and Career:
Background: Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a Jewish family, his father owned a jewelry and watch repair shop.
Violin Origin: As a child, he burned his arm with acid in his father's shop. He took up the violin as physical therapy to regenerate the arm muscles, later becoming a skilled player and using it in his early vaudeville acts.
Vaudeville and Stooges: Before joining forces with Moe Howard and Shemp Howard in the Ted Healy vaudeville act, Larry performed as a violinist and boxer.
The Three Stooges Years:
Larry joined Ted Healy and the Howard brothers in the 1920s, with the lineup officially becoming The Three Stooges in the 1930s for Columbia Pictures.
Role: He was the middle stooge—usually sandwiched between the authoritarian Moe and the chaotic Curly (or Shemp)—often acting as the baffled, passive, yet witty mediator who frequently took punishment from both.
