Brief Biography:  Elizabeth Stamatina "Tina" Fey is known for her sharp wit and groundbreaking contributions to comedy. She rose to national prominence as the first female head writer of Saturday Night Live (SNL) before creating and starring in the award-winning sitcom 30 Rock.

Early Life and Education:
Childhood Trauma: At age five, Fey was slashed in the face by a stranger while playing in her front yard, an event that left a permanent scar on her left chin and cheek.
Education: A self-described "supernerd" in school, she attended Upper Darby High School, where she participated in choir, drama, and the school newspaper. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 1992 with a B.A. in drama.

Career Beginnings and SNL:
The Second City: After college, Fey moved to Chicago and joined the famed improvisational troupe The Second City in 1994, where she honed her writing and performing skills.
Saturday Night Live (1997–2006): Fey joined SNL as a writer in 1997 and became the show's first female head writer in 1999. She gained wider fame starting in 2000 as a co-anchor of Weekend Update, first alongside Jimmy Fallon and later with long-time friend Amy Poehler.
Sarah Palin Impression: During the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign, she returned to SNL for a widely praised satirical portrayal of Sarah Palin, which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award.

Television, Film, and Literature:
30 Rock: After leaving SNL, Fey created and starred as Liz Lemon in 30 Rock (2006–2013), a critical success that earned her multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
Film Successes: She wrote and appeared in the cult classic Mean Girls (2004) and starred in films such as Baby Mama (2008), Date Night (2010), and provided the voice for 22 in Pixar's Soul (2020).
