Brief Biography:  Jim David is known for his sharp, observational humor and characters. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, he has been a prominent figure in the New York comedy scene since the 1980s. He is notably the first openly gay male comedian to have his own Comedy Central Presents special, which aired in December 2000.

Early Life and Background:
Following his 1976 graduation from Furman University, the North Carolina native entered comedy in 1986, having previously worked in education and singing telegrams.

Career Highlights:
Television & Stage: A regular on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (2002–2004) and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy consultant, David has appeared on The Tonight Show and Broadway. He also created the one-man show South Pathetic.
Awards & Writing: A three-time MAC award winner for Best Stand-Up and a 1998 Bistro Award recipient. He authored the 2012 novel You'll Be Swell and contributes to publications like The Advocate.
