Brief Biography:  Norm Crosby was a renowned American stand-up comedian known as "The Master of Malaprop" for his signature style of intentionally misusing similar-sounding words. A fixture on television in the 1970s and 80s, he was a regular on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Dean Martin's celebrity roasts.

Early Life and Career:
Military Service: During World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard in the North Atlantic, where he suffered permanent hearing damage from exploding depth charges, requiring him to wear a hearing aid on stage.
Career Beginnings: Originally worked in advertising before starting his comedy career in the 1950s, developing his "malapropism" style to differentiate himself.

Rise to Fame:
Television: Made his debut on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in December 1964, appearing over 50 times.
The Comedy Shop: Hosted the syndicated series The Comedy Shop (1978–1981), showcasing stand-up and vaudeville acts.
Roasts and Commercials: A staple of the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts and famously appeared as a pitchman for Natural Light beer in the late 1970s.

Philanthropy: Co-hosted the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon from 1983 until 2010.
