Christopher Charles Collins often credited as Chris Latta, was best known for voicing iconic 1980s cartoon villains, including Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe and Starscream in Transformers.
Early Life and Career:
He began his career in the mid-1970s, acting on stage in New York and Boston and working in radio.
Voice Acting: He adopted the stage name "Chris Latta" for voice-over work to avoid conflict with another Screen Actors Guild member. He was a staple in 1980s animation, providing voices for G.I. Joe, The Transformers, Star Blazers, and InHumanoids.
The Simpsons: He was the original voice of Mr. Burns and Moe Szyslak during the first season of The Simpsons (1989–1990) before the roles were taken over by Harry Shearer and Hank Azaria.
Comedy Career:
Style: Collins was a successful stand-up comedian known for a high-energy, aggressive persona, often portraying himself as a "psychotic who learned to market his problem".
