Brief Biography:  Cedric the Entertainer is known for his versatile performances in television, film, and live stand-up. He gained national fame as one of the "Original Kings of Comedy" and is recognized for his roles in The Steve Harvey Show, the Barbershop film series, and his current hit CBS sitcom, The Neighborhood.

Early Life and Education:
Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication from Southeast Missouri State University in 1987.
Pre-Fame: Before his comedy career, he worked as a State Farm insurance claims adjuster and a substitute high school teacher.

Career Highlights:
Stand-Up & "Kings of Comedy": Cedric started his career in stand-up and won the Miller Lite Comedy Search in 1990. He later joined Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, and Bernie Mac for the highly successful Original Kings of Comedy tour and subsequent 2000 film, which was directed by Spike Lee.
Television: He is best known for his role as Cedric "Jackie" Robinson on The Steve Harvey Show (1996–2002), for which he won four NAACP Image Awards. He also starred in Cedric the Entertainer Presents, The Soul Man, and currently produces and stars in The Neighborhood (2018–present).
Film: He played Eddie Walker in the Barbershop franchise and has appeared in films such as Johnson Family Vacation (also producer), Intolerable Cruelty, Be Cool, and Cadillac Records.
Voice Acting: He provided the voice for Maurice in the Madagascar film series and Bobby Proud in Disney's The Proud Family.

Philanthropy: He runs the Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation, which offers college scholarships to youth in his hometown of St. Louis.
Honors: In 2019, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts and Humanities from Lincoln University of Missouri in 2015.
