Brief Biography:  Todd Barry is an American stand-up comedian and actor best known for his "bone-dry," extremely sarcastic deadpan delivery. Over a career spanning nearly 40 years, he has established himself as a fixture in the New York comedy scene, known for his masterful crowd work and understated performance style.

Career Beginnings:
Before finding his voice in comedy, Barry was a musician. In the mid-1980s (1984–1985), he played drums for the indie rock band The Chant. He performed his first stand-up set on November 1, 1987, at Coconuts Comedy Club in North Miami Beach before eventually moving back to New York City to pursue comedy full-time.

Comedy and Media Career:
Stand-up: Barry is highly regarded for his crowd work; his 2016 special, The Crowd Work Tour, consisted entirely of unscripted interactions with the audience. He has released several comedy albums, including Medium Energy (2001) and Domestic Shorthair (2023).
Acting and Television: He is a frequent guest on high-profile comedy shows and has had notable roles in:
The Larry Sanders Show (Keith, a staff writer).
Flight of the Conchords (Todd, the "Third Conchord").
Louie (as a fictionalized version of himself).
The Wrestler (2008), where he played Mickey Rourke’s mean boss, Wayne.
Voice Acting: His voice can be heard in animated series such as Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Bob's Burgers.
Author: In 2017, he published a travel memoir titled Thank You for Coming to Hattiesburg, which chronicles his life touring secondary comedy markets.

Awards and Recognition:
Barry received the Jury Award for Best Stand Up Comic at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 1998. His album Medium Energy was recognized by The Onion’s AV Club as one of the best comedy albums of its decade.
