Brief Biography:  A. Whitney Brown (born Alan Whitney Brown on July 8, 1952) is an American comedian, writer, and actor, best known for his tenure on Saturday Night Live (SNL) from 1985 to 1991 and as an original correspondent on The Daily Show. He is acclaimed for his sharp, satirical political commentary, often presented through his "The Big Picture" segments.

Early Life and Career Beginnings:
As a youth, he was sent to a reformatory for stealing cars and never finished high school. He spent time in Texas, where he learned to juggle, and later worked as a street busker in San Francisco, often performing with a trained dog, Brownie. He entered the 1977 San Francisco Comedy Competition, transitioning into stand-up comedy.

Saturday Night Live (1985–1991):
Hired by Lorne Michaels, Brown was a writer and featured performer on SNL, best known for his "The Big Picture" Weekend Update segments. He won a Primetime Emmy in 1989 for writing and received three other nominations.
