Brief Biography:  Ed Bluestone was an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor known for his droll, deadpan delivery and dark sense of humor. He was a prominent figure in the 1970s comedy scene and a key contributor to the early success of National Lampoon magazine.

Early Life and Education:
Education: He studied drama at Monmouth College (now Monmouth University), where he earned a reputation as the class clown.
Early Career: He dropped out of college to pursue stand-up comedy, beginning his career at age 20.

Career Highlights:
National Lampoon: Bluestone joined the magazine in 1972. He is most famous for conceiving the iconic January 1973 "Death" issue cover, which featured a dog with a gun to its head and the caption: "If You Don't Buy This Magazine, We'll Kill This Dog".
Stand-up Comedy: He was a regular at legendary clubs like The Improv in New York and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

Television Appearances:
Featured in the 1977 revival of Laugh-In. Made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and The Merv Griffin Show. Served as a roaster for the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast series.
