Brief Biography:  John Adam Belushi was a transformative American comedian, actor, and musician, best known as a founding cast member of Saturday Night Live and for his high-energy, physical comedy style. At the height of his career, he famously achieved a rare "triple crown" of entertainment, simultaneously starring in the #1 late-night TV show, the #1 movie (Animal House), and having the #1 album (Briefcase Full of Blues).

Early Life and Career Beginnings:
Despite being a high school football captain and homecoming king, he chose to pursue acting at the urging of his drama teacher. He honed his improvisational skills at The Second City in Chicago, where he met his longtime collaborator Dan Aykroyd.

Rise to Stardom:
Saturday Night Live (1975–1979): As an original cast member, Belushi became a cultural icon through characters like the Samurai and his impersonations of Henry Kissinger and Joe Cocker.
National Lampoon's Animal House (1978): His role as the anarchic "Bluto" Blutarsky cemented his status as a movie star in what remains one of the most successful comedies ever made.
The Blues Brothers: What started as an SNL musical sketch with Aykroyd evolved into a double-platinum band and a 1980 cult classic film.
His life has been the subject of several biographies, notably Wired (1984) by Bob Woodward, which friends like Bill Murray have criticized as inaccurate, and Belushi: A Biography (2005), a more positive oral history co-authored by his widow, Judith Belushi Pisano.
