Joy Behar is an American comedian, television host, actress, and writer, most famous for her long tenure as a co-host on the ABC daytime talk show The View. She has become a prominent voice in American media, known for her sharp wit and political commentary.
Early Life and Education:
Behar grew up in an Italian-American, Roman Catholic household in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Queens College in 1964 and a Master of Arts in English education from Stony Brook University in 1966. Before entering show business, she taught high school English on Long Island.
Career Milestones:
The View: Behar joined The View as an original panelist in 1997. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 2009 alongside her co-hosts. She briefly left the show in 2013 but returned as a regular co-host in 2015.
