Brief Biography:  American actor and comedian, best remembered as a regular cast member on the groundbreaking television sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In during the early 1970s. Known for his versatile comedic timing, he frequently appeared in various sketches and became a familiar face in the "Golden Age" of TV variety shows.

Early Life and Career:
Allen earned a Bachelor and master's degrees from the Boston University College of Fine Arts. After completing his education, he moved to New York and began his career performing in an Off-Broadway music revue of material by Julius Monk in the Plaza 9 club at the Plaza Hotel. He spent next four years performing sketch comedy in New York clubs, and working as an actor in radio and television commercials.

Stage Work: Before his television fame, he starred opposite Ruth Buzzi in Gene Kelly’s Broadway production of ClownAround.
Television Breakthrough: He joined the cast of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In as a regular from 1970 to 1973.
