Brief Biography:  Fran Allison, best known as the only human star of the acclaimed live puppet show Kukla, Fran and Ollie (1947–1957). An Iowa-born teacher turned performer, she began her career in radio, creating the character "Aunt Fanny" on Don McNeill's Breakfast Club.

Early Life and Radio Career:
Education: Graduated from Coe College in 1928 with a teaching certificate.
Radio Beginnings: Worked at WMT radio in Waterloo, Iowa, before joining NBC in Chicago in the late 1930s, gaining fame as the gossipy "Aunt Fanny".

"Kukla, Fran and Ollie" and Television Success:
The Show: From 1947 to 1957, she acted as the "human side" of the Kuklapolitan Players, a puppet troupe created by Burr Tillstrom.
Role: She brought warmth, genuine emotion, and ad-libbed interaction to the live, unscripted show, serving as a "bridge" between the audience and the puppets.
Accomplishments: The show won numerous awards, including Peabody and Emmy awards, and drew millions of viewers.

Later Career:
Post-KFO Work: She hosted The Fran Allison Show and appeared in television specials such as Pinocchio (1957) and Damn Yankees (1967).
